Today we watched the guitar and the saxophone students to play. They were absolutely great although they were still struggling to play their songs nicely, but I know they have worked hard for it. Especially the saxophone students, they were very good! To play saxophone is hard and for beginners they're really wonderful. We also wrote our reflection on a booklet about our compositions of what problems we went through while creating our songs and submitted it to our music teacher, Mr. Herry.

Today I watched my music classmates play their instruments but I also practiced my song composition in music class this day. I also watched my friends in the class practice their compositions, and Mr. Herry told us to upload 4 videos this term which I have done on time. He also recorded some of my friends who play their instruments beautifully. :)

My Song Composition 2nd Practice ( not modified)

This is a video of me practicing my song composition (not yet modified) and I'd played it greater than I did on my song composition (not yet modified) video first practice. I did make a few mistakes when I played but not very much. Nonetheless, I will do my best not to make even a single mistake so that I will get a stupendous and GRATIFYING mark! 

My Song Composition 1st Practice (not modified)

This is my first practice video of my song composition (not yet modified) and I think I didn't play it well. I stopped at some parts and I was still a bit confused while playing the song. I will practice to play my composition two times a day so that I will improve my skills on playing this song.

My Song Composition 2nd Practice (modified)

This is the second video of me practicing my song composition. I played it better than I did in my first practice video but I need to improve and make it sound better. I think the tempo is a little bit too slow, I'm going to try to make the tempo go faster so that it won't sound so monotonous and sleepy.

Today I watched my friends play their compositions again like I did on 15th November, the class didn't go on really differently from the previous class. They still seemed to be struggling while playing their songs. There were Sabrina, Melvin, Stefan, Diandre and Kevin. I, too, played my composition, I need to practice more to make the song sounds better and better.

Today I watched my friends from violin and guitar classes rehearse. They were excellent but I was a little bored because there was no background music since they didn't play the chords. Anyway still, they were good and I could really see they practiced real hard. Today we had no instrument class so I wrote my reflection in theory class.

I think I played it well but I need to practice more to make it nicer, also so that I won't be stopping while playing the song. I think the song sounds pretty nice too! I hope you people like it!

Today Mr. Herry could not teach us because he had a workshop to attend, however Mr. John substituted Mr. Herry. Today's music class was enjoyable, Mr. John told us to play our compositions and also let us know about our mistakes that we should change when we play our compositions. After that, I watched some of my classmates play their compositions and I think they were all great. I should practice my composition more in order to play it more beautifully and fluently.

Today I listened to my friends' compositions and they're all good and hilarious! Especially Ryan's which was about Justin Bieber Asia, LOL. Mr. Herry also told us about our mistakes and told us to correct it.

Today I wrote my final draft of my own composition and also the lyrics. I played in front of sir Herry and he told me about some of my mistakes which I should not repeat and erase in my composition. Along with that, I also practiced my song and changed some notes to make it nicer to listen. Then I wrote my reflection.

Mr. Herry checked my composition which I have made last week, I was told to put the lyrics to our previous compositions. I wrote a song about teachers because I was confused about what kind of lyrics I should put to my composition. Mr. Herry also told us to play out second composition but we had so little time, so some people didn't have the chance to present it to Mr. Herry. However, Mr. Herry corrected some of my mistakes in my composition.

Today we were taught how to modify bars and notes because we're supposed to modify our song compositions. At first it's a little bit difficult to modify bars but when I finally got to understand more about it, it's not so hard after all. I will do it tonight so on Thursday I will be prepared to play and practice playing it in the class.

Today in music class, I listened to Mr. Herry as he talked and taught us briefly about how to use Finale. I was supposed to submit my composition today but it was my fault that I forgot to do it, so I am going to submit it tonight by email. I also listened to Melvin's song composition and well... It was okay, pretty good! I played my own composition and let Mr. Herry listen to it and he also corrected some of my mistakes. Thanks, Mr. Herry!

I have completed and presented my song composition to Mr. Herry and he played it in front of the class. I don't think it's really good though, I'm planning to re-do it again on Finale to make it so much better. I was in a hurry when I made the song, because I think I was thinking a little bit too slow and time was running out (as always). Well I hope I'm going to make a brilliant song!!

In music class today, I submitted my music workbook and listened carefully to Mr. Herry teaching us how to compose an ABACA structured song. I think it's not so hard to make an ABACA structured song, we just need to get a little creative to make an excellent composition.We also learnt about chords (C major, C minor, etc) and I should play those chords in order to memorize it.

This day I created my own simple song using the A, A', B, A' formula taught by my piano and music teacher, Mr. Herry. He's checked my composition, I hope he likes it because I really want to get a good score. Later I will practice so that I will be prepared if I was asked to play my song. I also watched Aldo and Sabrina sing, they were good although Aldo struggled at first! :D

In music theory class today, I did my third singing assessment and Mr. Herry gave me an 8.5 mark for it. I think it's a nice score but I still need to improve more and not be very nervous. I should set my standards higher so that I can work harder to achieve a better and better score. I also watched my classmates sing, I think they were awesome!

Today I did my second singing assessment and I got 7.5 for my assessment. It's pretty good but I must have tried harder not to laugh when singing in front of people. We also practiced singing You've Got A Friend by Carole King for our third singing assessment on Thursday. I should get more practice to get a very good score.

Today we had a test about chords and inversions for about 40 minutes. I could do the test even though I thought about the answer in a quiet long time. I hope I will get a good score!! In the instrument class, I showed my skills to Mr. Herry of playing the chords and notations. He also taught me about how to play more nicely.

In music class this afternoon, we had a quiz like last week but it's about a different subject, which was about notation and musical stuff. I didn't really do the quiz nicely because I don't really know about the music symbols. I also had to check one of my classmates' paper quiz and mention their scores. Plus, we were also told to record a video practice of us practicing the song we were told to play. In instrument class, I played the inversions and I knew how to do it but I still need to do it more fluently.

Today the whole class was given a worksheet to fill in which was a quiz about the root and the root inversions of C, G, D, A, E, B, F and B flat. I struggled for a while but eventually I think I did the quiz pretty well, but I think I still have the need to improve my knowledge about this. Gaining knowledge is never useless, isn't it?

In music class today, I learnt again about root, first inversions and second inversions. I also watched Derrick perform his practical assessment and I also listened to Mr. Herry while he was talking about the MTP learning plan and task booklet. He told us about the music assessments and projects we should do this term.

Today I practiced again to write the C, D, E, F, G, A and B chords and chord inversions. And also, I had done the assessment today and I think I was quiet good although I made some errors. I was a little nervous, so if I could re-do the assessment I would try my best to be less nervous and do it much better to get a good, good score.

Today I learnt about chords and chord inversions. I practiced my classical tune in the instrument class and Mr. Herry told me about my mistakes in playing the piano and how I need to improve to get a good score on my assessment. He also told me to post the video practices of me on my blog to get a good mark for music reflection. Along with that, I need to rehearse the song for my assessment to play it better and better.

I presented my presentation today but we were a little unorganized so we only got 5 out of 8 for the score for the assessment. We were also told by Mr. Herry to write individually about Pop Vs Classical Music and print it in a form of booklet. In the instrument class, I practiced the song which I'm going to play for my assessment.

The first week of practicing this song is not good, I didn't play the song like how it should be played. I stopped in many parts and I made a few mistakes when I was playing the song. Practicing more is the best way for me now to do good in the assessment later. Well you know what they say: PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! :)

I played the song too slowly, I didn't focus that well because I was very sleepy. I need to make the tempo steady and unchanging, plus I also have to practice more and more to play the song more beautifully than before.

In my opinion I was quiet good in the beginning but in the last part I guess I kind of stopped in some parts. I really need to practice more to play it better and I need to focus more when I play the song, but to me, this week of video practice is much better than the video practice last week and it's a good thing that I improved.

This is my fourth week of practicing the song for my assessment. I think I need to make the tempo constant and I need to practice more in order to play it better and fluently. But I guess I did a quiet good job for the fourth week of practicing the song for the assessment.

Today I watched a presentation of my friend's and I think their presentation is quiet fantastic. I was supposed to presentate again today but Melvin didn't bring his palm cards for the presentation, so we'll do it again next week. I also played a classical song which I picked for the assessment but Mr. Herry told me to play Menuett G instead.

Today at music class, my group and I presented a presentation about what's the difference between pop and classical music, and how is classical music still popular until now while some pop songs are just popular for a little while. I also watched some of my friends presented their presentations about pop and classical music and I think they're quiet good. However, I need to re-present my presentation again because we weren't very prepared and we want to get a good score.

At music class today, I watched some of my friends sing and I thought I was going to re-do the assessment today but then it turned out that the time wasn't enough again so I will do it on Thursday. I also played the F scale but I need to practice much more so that I can play without making any mistake. Mr. Herry also told me to cut my nails and polish off my nail polish, so today I cut my nails and wash away the nail polish on my nails.

Today I helped some of my friends making their blogs for their reflection on music class and I also checked mine. I was supposed to do my assignment again today but the time wasn't enough so maybe next week I'll sing for the assessment. I also played scales from C to D, I need to continue practice for scale E, F, G, A and B so I can play it fluently.

Today I watched some of my friends in the class perform singing for their assessment. I think they were good and the fact just made me even more nervous since I've never been good in singing. Well it turned out that time was running out and I didn't have the chance to sing  yet today, so probably I'd do it next week. Maybe it's a sign from God that I should practice more at home to get an excellent mark for this assessment!

I didn't do much today since I had to leave early because I needed to go to the embassy. But I was in the class for about thirty minutes as I watched some of my classmates practice singing in front of the class for the assessment, but today I have picked a song to sing for the assessment which is Part Of Your World composed by Alan Menken.

I watched some of my friends sing today and Mr. Herry asked us about what song we would be singing later on, but unfortunately I haven't picked a song to sing for the assessment. I still wasn't sure but I'd be sure very soon enough. My classmates and I sang 'Heal The World' which is a pop song by Michael Jackson and it was enjoyable singing together with the class.

Today I learned about the MYP learning plan and task booklet and the scale. In the instrument class I played C and D scale since it's our homework. We also talked about pop songs in the class and we should tell Mr. Herry which popular songs we like. Afterwards Mr. Herry gave us a worksheet on scale which we had to fill in and I did it pretty well. I quiet enjoyed the music class today.
